pinprick: (And all the paths were overgrown)

I have a question!

A friend and I would like to app CRAUs of two Dragon Age characters. The game they are coming from has had a long-running plot that has advanced both characters greatly. Both Nathaniel and Anders are Grey Wardens, and so they have the darkspawn taint in their blood. This means they have limited time to live, and in Nathaniel's case, it has been established in the game they are being pulled from that he only has a few years left. Anders has been looking for a cure for the darkspawn taint, wanting to leave the Wardens for good as well as to save Nathaniel's life. This both is and isn't an illness--it's a toxin that causes illness and death in others, but this variation of it is something Grey Wardens voluntarily commit themselves to in order to serve the greater good. Like a vaccine that will eventually give you the disease. Nonetheless, if all goes splendidly and Nathaniel is in this game for another three years, it'll become relevant. Is the technology of this setting going to possess some way of delaying the taint's progression, or of curing it altogether?
