Living Spaces DREAMING BRIDGE As Dreamfolk have become a regular occurrence, the Dreaming Bridge is designed to help newcomers find their way. The Bridge is something of a halfway house, where new arrivals can find temporary housing and support until they have enough resources to move out on their own. The lower floor is where Dreamfolk can find services provided by an orientation center - job listings, housing options, information about city organizations, and so on. The floors above are broken into 5 "wings" (Breakwater, Flagship, Quayside, Regatta, and Wheelhouse) of 15 rooms apiece. The Bridge can house around 225 Dreamfolk in comfortable but sparsely-furnished rooms, designed for multiple people to share the facilities like a dorm or roommate situation. Three of the lodging wings were recently closed for renovations, and Quayside was recently closed due to some suspicious growths found in the walls, leaving only the Breakwater open. Dreamfolk in need of special accommodations will be assisted as best possible. SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS Another option that new arrivals can take advantage of is the chance to stay with Dreamfolk who've offered to act as foster families or guidance peers to those recently arrived in Aifaran. If the person(s) live in a separate lodging somewhere in the city, they may also offer to let the new arrival stay with them if they choose, or they can remain in the Dreaming Bridge. These positions are entirely opt-in, and many Dreamfolk enjoy helping their new fellows settle into city life. INDIVIDUAL HOUSING Once Dreamfolk have been in Aifaran for a few months, most of them move from the Dreaming Bridge into their own lodgings, although a few choose to stay on for familiarity's sake. Dreamfolk can find housing all over the city, at the same rates as any of the other races, the scale and style of which depending on the area of the city and how much they're comfortable spending. But the Bridge is always open to those who need lodging or have no other options, even if they're not new. (If you have an information link about their residence, you can include it!)
DREAMFOLK SUPPORT POSITIONS VOLUNTEERS If your character is interested in being a supporter for a newly arrived Dreamfolk, please comment here using the form below. Please note that this is something that characters ICly sign up to do through the Dreaming Bridge, so characters cannot be submitted if they would not have volunteered for the position. Assignees are randomized as new characters join the game. NEW ARRIVALS If you are interested in having your character be assigned to a volunteer supporter, please comment here using the form below. Please note that these assignments are randomized for CR building purposes; if you are looking to have your character stay with a specific character in-game, you do not need to fill out this form, merely contact the other player to arrange it.
